MIA?

Hello! Where have I been, you ask? Well, I started school last Wednesday, and everything's been a little hectic since then. I wouldn't say I've been loaded with homework, but I'm really just trying to get a schedule going. I've been working on a couple little projects for school, as usual. Teachers always assign those random projects that tell the class about yourself and all that.
This year I'm taking French I, Honors English, Analytical Biology, Geometry Honors, Gym, Culinary Arts, and a Gifted Health class. You can probably tell I might get busy from all that. I'm also in the school's Senate, which meets at "zero-hour", which is before school starts. I'm currently working on the application to run for Freshman Class President. I've actually never ran for an office in any student government ordeal, but I've always participated in student government when I had the chance.
Anyways, the whole point of this blurb is to apologize for not posting anything. Sorry for the neglect!
xoxo, Emily

Renovation: Day 2/3

On Sunday, my mom and I finished painting my room. Then later that night, we moved all of my furniture back to its original place so that there wasn't a massive pile of furniture in the center of my room. Then Monday afternoon, I finished off my room by hanging pictures and just tidying things up! So now, my room is totally finished, and I absolutely love it.

Renovation: Day 1

My mom and I have been talking about repainting my room all summer, and now we're finally getting to it. I painted my room a bunch of neon colors back in the 6th grade and they've gotten a bit obnoxious. I decided I would take you guys along with me while my room is being transformed! I'll be posting pictures throughout the process. This weekend we are moving furniture and priming the walls. Here are all of the before pictures:
Here are some pics from after the furniture was moved and the walls primed:

I think that tomorrow we're going to paint on the color, which is to be a surprise! Stay tuned.

Outfit of the Day

Today I'm wearing a tank top I got from Forever21 that says "I don't speak French" in French. Ironic, huh? I wore it with this floral skirt I got from Wetseal last fall, which I altered so it would be more high-waisted. I paired it with a pair of tan and gold sandals from Target and an owl necklace from Forever21!

Also, here's the hair tutorial I used to do this side braid: http://tinyurl.com/24d8537

August Wish List

With all the new clothes in stores for fall, I've seen a couple things I have absolutely fallen in love with. These are the five that I think are essential!

Ankle Boots
I've been wanting a pair for a while now, but I feel like fall is the perfect season to get them. They're perfect to dress up almost any outfit, but they seem comfortable, which is always a plus!

Fall Handbag
As of now, I'm carrying a bright, colorful Coach bag. It's absolutely perfect for summer, and I love it to death, but I've been wanting a darker bag for fall and winter.

Dry Shampoo
With school starting soon, I'm going to have to start getting up earlier. I know that I will do almost anything to be able to sleep in even the slightest bit. That's where the dry shampoo comes in handy. If you're running a bit late and it looks like your hair is a little greasy, just spray some of this on your hair and you're good to go!

Lace Top
I love how elegant lace is, but I also love how edgy it can look. I've seen a bunch of lace in almost every store I go into, and I'm really liking it.

Gray Nail Polish

I've recently seen a lot of people with gray nail polish, and needless to say, I love it. It's more subtle than wearing black, but it still has a bit of an edge. Perfect!
